Night Walk

Completed: 2024-11-01

Light dances on the water by my side,
Glinting, sparkling, from artificial lights.
That water saunters sleepy, mystified
By gentle fog that visits on these nights.

I breath in freshness, cool and tinged with dew,
That strengthens me like slumber as I stroll.
A flutter wakes me and the place anew,
An avian brings to the night its soul.

Naught else but that black bird, nocturnal, stirs,
And I continue on my lazy way
Drinking each moment in from last to first,
Sav’ring what can not be found in the day.
